“ Excellent Sermon! ” What is said here about the suffering of Christ is very good. The whole sermon is very good. These verses aren't talked about much, perhaps they should be. I've often made unrighteous jugdments, this lesson has taught me to not be so quick, but to think righteously. It's true that sometimes "we just don't know" why things happen. The statements about "repent or perish" couldn't be more obvious and yet for some reason they seemed confusing to me in the past (probably because I thought there were worse sinners than myself). Verse 49, where Jesus talks about fire, I wasn't sure what he meant by that, I can see now how it flows into the following verses. All of us, born of God, can relate to the division spoken of here, it's amazing to me that our Lord wished it were already started.
