Satan knows his time is short, and his war against God will not result in victory for him. What does he hope to accomplish? Why does he want to deceive people? What is his ultimate goal? The answer may have a profound, emotional impact on you. The signs indicating Christ's coming are signs that Satan is in control. He is the god of this world. As the master of deceit, Satan took control of the world with great ease, without a fight. It was practically given to him due to humanity's preference for his ways. Like Satan, most do not want God's ways. The root of cause of wars, violence, and anger is depravity (unrighteousness), which is the inclination to rebel against God. Wars, violence, and anger are due to the lack of submission to God. Thus, it can be said that wars, violence, and anger begin first of all with rebellion toward God. The god of this world, Satan, that old serpent, the Devil is leading the way of the unrighteous.
