As our series on worship continues, we begin to investigate the individual elements of worship. We begin with the element of worship that is sung praise. We ask what God has instructed us to sing in the public worship of God. The answer is: His 150 inspired psalms.
In this sermon, we consider how the exclusive psalmody position fits the pillars of worship we have considered thus far. We also consider how the exclusive psalmody position is derived from the Scripture. Lastly, we remember that this was the historic practice of the church from the time of the Jewish Synagogue up to the 6th Century AD and reinforced in the Church Councils and then adopted once again in the Reformation. Proving that this is no aberrant view, but is Coherent with the Principles of Worship, with the Scripture, and also with the historic testimony of the Universal and Reformed Church.
Preached Sabbath PM on 09/12/21 from Colossians 3:16.
