There's a real good reason why the Psalms, the hymn book of the Bible, filled with the testimonies of the righteous, begins with defining someone who is richly blessed. Who are they? Someone who MEDITATES upon the Lord and His ways. One who feeds and chews and gleans all they possibly can from Him and His word, that THEY may personally know the Lord and His thoughts on life (which is the idea of meditating), because they DELIGHT in Him and His wisdom, for every aspect of life. Those that delight in something or someone or something about someone will meditate upon them, when they are with them or not. But, those who see something or someone as a duty... look forward to leaving "their duty" to go do the things they really delight in. Delight makes mediating delightful... and mediating makes our delights richer and ever more delicious. And ANY worldly comments or counseling or convictions or confidence that opposes the Lord and His joy are checked in their spirits and labeled as a "TOXIC Tree Killer" and delightfully avoided. And nothing but God's "fertilizer" will be welcomed in their life that they may be the tree they've been planted to be.
We have to be more discerning than the average Joe. Because what the average worldly fella thinks is good, ain't good. It may be good to him and his neighbors and community and friends and associates but it doesn't mean the Lord has the same idea about it. And no one is exempt from making the mistake of doing what they think or feel is good and it be totally wrong.
