As our Lord faced His cross, His thoughts looked beyond His imminent suffering to His heavenly realm. In His mind’s eye, did Christ glimpse the glimmer of golden streets, the splendor of angels He created, the unveiled radiance of holiness? Perhaps. But this is certain: as Jesus longed for heaven’s glory, His heart thrilled at the thought of you being there with Him. Think of that! It’s almost as if heaven’s completeness, in Jesus’ thinking, requires your presence. “I desire that they be with Me…” Doesn’t that astonish you? How vast is Christ’s love for you… and for all of God’s elect, that His desire is for a heaven that includes us! Do you long to be with Jesus, as He longs to be with you? “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." I hope to see you here this Sunday as we consider: “Living loved: A disciple’s heavenly outlook.”
