In the final chapter of Nahum, the LORD of hosts has set His sights on Nineveh for destruction. Their sin has created a stench that has ascended to the throne of God and He plans to overthrow this ancient city of people which has stood since built in Genesis 10. This city will be destroyed at an unlikely time. This city is at its strongest. It is thriving in worldly power and is a major influencer on the world. However, the LORD is going to call out this city of people, particularly its leadership, condemn its practices, and end its existence in the world. This is strong language, but it demonstrates God's holy white-hot hatred against sin. God's wrath has been poured out at the cross on the Sinless Son of God or will be poured out on the unrepentance sinner. Heed the warning!
