This portion Genesis 3, following the first sin of Adam and Eve, is all about the consequences of sin; and we must see and understand that. But behind this . . . behind that which is front and center here, we must see the compassion of God. See how He pursues. See how even as Adam and Eve have made themselves His enemy . . . see how as they have aligned themselves against God, and with Satan . . . He pursues these two. Even as they have have made themselves into lost sheep. Sheep who have purposefully stepped out of the fold; who have decided to wander off in search of greener pastures. Thinking that what God had given them was not quite good enough. But yet the LORD, Jehovah, is not prepared to cast them off. He goes in search of them. Donning on His waders so that He can now slough through the mess that these have created. He has created all things very good, and in one transgression these have managed to cast it all aside. And God is going in after them to bring them back.
Just as when you enter into sin, as you may be unwilling immediately to confess it. The Lord will NOT leave you in it. If you are a child of God; if you have been justified by Christ; if you have been adopted into His family . . . He will never leave you in your sin.
