With a focus on proper speech, we see in the scriptures that we can stop fighting and have peace. Are we asking for the will of God, or our own wills? We can pray for things we desire, however it should be to glorify God. The Lord loves us so much and will freely give us all the things we need if we ask in according to His will. We need to pray with purity and humility lining up with God's desires. We will not insist on our own ways if we are desiring His will. We must not buy into the World's system that is hostile to God and His ways. Do we really believe that God knows what is best for us? If we do, we will want to go as far away from sin as possible. We should desire to do God's will for His glory and when we do His will it is what is best for us. To gain spiritual victory, we should submit ourselves to God and not be double minded. When we speak about the future as if we are in control of it, it is presumptuous speech. We do not know what will happen tomorrow. We need to constantly yield our plans and goals to The Lord. If He changes them, know that He has our best interest in mind. God is looking for us to have hearts that are ready to do His will. His plan is perfect.
