God is holy and His people must live holy lives and regard Him as holy as He lives among them. He went into great details explaining to Israel what they must do to maintain their purity.
Today God lives in individual believers and in the midst of the Church, local and universal. His standard of holiness has not changed so He must be treated as holy by His people today. Although the details He required of Israel do not apply to us, the point that He is making regarding His demands for His people do apply. This becomes a serious matter for the believer living today so we must pursue a life of holiness if we are to walk in the closest intimacy with our eternal, unchanging God.
