Peter is staying at the house of Simon, the tanner, when the Holy Spirit shows him a sheet of "unclean food". Remarkably, the Spirit instructs him to "kill and eat". He immediately refuses, but the Spirit repeats the instructions to him three times. After falling into a state of "ecstasy" and the Spirit tells him he is sending Gentile men to take him to Caesarea (the Roman enclave in the region) to share the gospel to a group of Romans (all non-Jews).
Once there he experiences something he never anticipated--Gentiles became believers and were filed with the Holy Spirit! This Gentile Pentecost is when everything changes. This Messianic movement noves from being a splinter group of orthodox Judaism to a worldwide movement of God.
