THE POWER CONNECTION OF PRAYER James 5:13-20 When we pray, we know that he will not give us anything that isn't good. And what's more, we have the assurance that he will give us every good thing we ask for. (1John 5:14-15) When you pray, even if you don't know exactly what to pray for, even if you don't know what is best in this situation, you can pray with confidence and you can expect results. God will give you direction. He will provide an answer. Put it in his hands and trust him for what happens next. Expect results. 3 ways you can strengthen your prayer life. 1. Make prayer your first response to everything. v.13 2. Start praying with a group. v.14,16 3. Expect Results. v.15 HOW TO PRAY ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS 1. I must ASK v.4:2 2. I must have the right motives v.4:3 3. I must have a clean life v.5:16b 4. I must ask in faith (expecting) v.1:6-7Some illnesses are not the result of sin, but are for the purpose of glorifying God. This is why James makes the statement, "IF he has sinned." Not all sickness is a result from sinfulness. Job was a righteous man that brought glory to God through his suffering and sickness. Notice what Jesus said about the blindness of a man. John 9:2-3God allows sickness to bring glory to Himself. Healing is not based on the sick person's faith, but the faith of those who are doing the praying. Healers use the excuse that God did not heal a person because the sick person did not have enough faith. God, however, is looking at the faith of those who are doing the praying as well as the repentance of the sinner. Mark 2:5God will answer our prayers when they are offered in faith. He waits, however, for our prayers before intervening and healing
