Pastor Tim Goad continues his exposition of the trial, scourging, and questioning of CHRIST with Pilate the man, historical background of his arrival about 4yrs earlier and his penchant for arrogance towards the people. The Jewish people themselves, laws and customs, and how up until the Roman Empire, all other powerful empires had either enslaved those they conquered or lead them into exile. Tim ties all this together to the sovereign decretive will, and plans, of GOD. That JESUS would minister amongst a people under Roman rule who occupied those of whom they conquered, allowed for the people to keep their laws and practices, all but corporal punishment, being the Jews sought, and would have, stoned CHRIST, all coming together at such a time, can only be attributed to our sovereign GOD. We also see, Pilate, in his arrogance, tell JESUS that he should speak and answer him for he had the power to save him, and JESUS's answer goes right to the very heart of GOD's authority, power, and sovereignty over all things.
