Paul's accusers use worldly wisdom and definitions, but Paul models the behavior of Jesus, who was characterized by love and servanthood. Paul goes on to speak of real warfare -- not clashing with fiery words against other people to elevate oneself, but taking THOUGHTS captive, defeating arguments and ideas, and philosophies contrary to the truths of scripture. Of course, these ideas are foolishness unless you have been given the gift of faith in Jesus.
