We may not recognize His authenticity but He always signs His messages. Sometimes He signs it with the blood of others... and at other times it's with His own.
The life blood of wicked Ahab and his no good wife, along with the literal heads of his seventy sons, were the divine signature of God and the promise of judgment upon him and ALL his household. But this divine outpouring of wrath and judgment and lifeless blood are just a minute scale of what is yet to come upon this world, that has chosen to do things their way and treat Jesus and His message like a game of bingo.
Jehu was affirmed and rewarded by God for his extraordinary executions of Jezebel, the prophets of Baal and the sons of Ahab. He and his descendants welcomed the promise of God that they would occupy the throne of Israel for four generations.
2 Kings 9 ; 2 Kings 10
But can I tell you about another King? One who faithfully gave up His life blood for His descendants, who also welcomed the promise of an everlasting and eternal throne. Now this King isn't done with shedding blood. Yes, He's finished with pouring out His own, but He's not done shedding the blood of all those who will make war with Him and His servants. I see a picture of Him, a future day that He will return to this earth, and if we think what Jehu did was horrific, the bloodshed in that day will be beyond comparison to ANY the world has ever known. And God ain't shy or timid about either... He's promised to sign His work in blood (Revelation 14 and 19).
