We want peace at all costs! Despite our denial, there is a war going on. Neutrality is a myth. There is a culture war, but that is not what we are talking about here. There is another warfare of far greater importance than any war that was ever waged by humanity. It is spiritual warfare. It is the fight from victory for our souls. This warfare is a thing of which many know nothing. Talk to them about it, and they are ready to call you nuts. And yet it is as real and true as any war the world has ever seen. Above all, it has serious consequences. It is of this warfare that the apostle Paul spoke to Timothy, when he wrote these words, "Fight the good fight of faith; lay hold on eternal life." True Christianity is both war and peace. We fight the world, the flesh and the devil. We fight for sound doctrine. Our generation must contend for the faith. But we also have peace with God, fellow believers and ourselves thanks to the reconciliation brought by Jesus Christ!
