There is one mediator, Paul says, between God and men -- the Man Christ Jesus! A mediator is a reconciler between hostile parties. The parties in this case are God and us. We have a perpetual conflict over who will be God. God could have damned us all, but instead He graciously sent His Son as mediator so that justice could be satisfied and so we could be saved. Jesus alone is qualified to be mediator, since He alone is the God Man and since He alone died on the cross and shed His blood as a propitiation for sinners. No one else has ever done or accomplished that. Therefore, neither Moses, nor Mary nor Mohammed are legitimate mediators. They are disqualified.
