Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ: The last time you heard from God's Word that you must submit to the civil government, because submitting to the civil authorities was good for you and it was good for the kingdom. (Of course you also learned there are times you are bound to disobey the civil government if it requires that you break God's law.)
Part of that submission to the civil government was that Christians were to pay taxes to it so it could do its job of making it in easier for Christians to do their job.
Apostle Paul, like a good teacher, seeing an opportunity to expand on God's command to give the government what you owe it, then applied that principle to all areas of life. Specifically, he pointed out Christians were not only to give the government what was due to it, they were to give all men what was due to them. He does this in 2 ways.
These are our headings: 1. Give what is due to all men: The Principle 2. Give what is due to all men: The Practice
Our goals are: That for the kingdom of Christ to spread, God requires you pay all debts you owe to others.
