What does it mean to grow weary? -In the last chapter error and false teaching creeped in and brought depression in this chapter the depression is stemmed in simply doing the right thing and growing weary from it
How can we stop this weariness? -Do not let your flesh convince you to quit. It is times like these that we are tempted to give up.
Sometimes in these cases we realize we shouldn’t quit so we just go on and think to ourselves, “I am just destined to keep going with no joy” The problem here is we lose the joy which God desires for us to have as it is a fruit of the Spirit. We also many times become stoic Christians.
-We can examine ourselves. Go before the Lord and seriously seek, “Why am I feeling this way? What is the cause of my weariness”
What are some causes of our weariness? -Sometimes it is because we work “For the Lord” by our own power and not leaning on the Holy Spirit. This is not maintainable and leads us to working for the Lord in a carnal way
We need to be careful that we see the Christian Life as something that is good. It isn’t some awful task we have to do. -1 Cor 15:58
