Music is a gift from God. The Bible is full of music, and it is important in the church. In Ephesians 5, Paul explains that if we are filled with the Spirit, we will be singing to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Psalms are songs accompanied by instruments. Instruments and styles will change with time, doctrine is what is important. Hymns are songs which praise God. Songs should not be for entertainment but are a means to worship God. Spiritual songs are songs of testimony, and many great Christians have written personal songs of testimony of what God has meant to them in their lives. While we may have different preferences in music styles, we should always lift up the Lord in our music and praise Him for Who He is and what He has done! He is worthy!
