“ Great discussion ”
Excellent discussion once again, as a follower of reform ed theology I totally agree with what you guys are saying. I have also wrestled with this issue before. and when I find a difficult topic such as this it always seems to boil down to what man thinks versus what God says. as a lover of the Puritans and a lover of all Spurgeon material I follow the Calvinistic views, but the one issue that I have a problem with his man's responsibility. maybe you can help me if you find time if not I totally understand . I believe in total depravity but my issue is if God grants us the grace and faith to believe, how is it man it's responsibility to avoid hell... again when I stumble across an issue it's hard like this I must fall back to God's ways are far above our ways. but that answer is never good enough when discussing topic with an Armenian or someone that holds free will views.. i'm a young believer and I still don't have a home church or home pastor that I can ask this question to. I am still in search of a good reformed pastor in Nashville so if you have any friends in Nashville or someone that you could turn me too that would be helpful as well. thanks Sean

“ RE: Curtis from Seatle ”
"In order for people to have a relationship with God we must" place repentant faith in the good news (the gospel)that God sent his only begotten Son to die for us in an individual atoning sense and that He rose again. God is God and a single word like "gentleman" is not sufficient to describe God. I hardly think of a gentleman killing the firstborn of everything in Egypt not covered by the blood (see the first Passover). Or I hardly think of a gentleman giving the order to Israel to wipe out everything that has a pulse in the occupation of Promised Land, yet both are ordered by God. God is God and no single attribute trumps his other attributes. This is why "Love Wins" is a misnomer. The Apostle Paul is an example of a person who fought sin and desired to be in God's presence. All born again believers will battle with sin all the days of their life (see Rom 7:15-25). In heaven the absence of Satan, sin, death and the flesh will remove any need to "force" believers to live holy lives. God's finished work of sanctification will culminate with perfect holiness in all who are redeemed and these redeemed saints will enjoy God forever without compulsion they will live holy lives in the grace of God. I thank God that regeneration includes creating a will that will respond to the truth.

“ Great Sermon! ”
In order for people to have relationship with God we must desire to be holy and right with God. The person wants to live in sin don't want to be in Gods presence, because they would be forced to live holy. God is a gentleman he will not force anyone to live in his presence forever against there will. Hell is a place that God limits His restraint of evil totally. It is a place where His love, mercy and justice.
