Do you ever wrestle with hard things you see and hear... things you just don't understand or misunderstood? We all do... especially if we've been misinformed about something that God does or doesn't do. Habakkuk found himself in this place. Misled by "info" passed down to him about how God works and he was struggling badly with the challenging times of his nation.
Now, he took the right steps... which led to the right Someone and solutions for what he would have to face. He wrestled with it all but by bringing it to the right place — God — He gave him the right perspectives to see victory in it all.
We find Habakkuk WRESTLING with God in chapter one because of his lack of understanding of who God is, what He can do, and who He can use to fulfill His purpose. But we see him wrestling with WISDOM in chapter two as he waited and watched for the Lord. And, as we conclude his message, we can't help but notice how his wrestling match ended with WORSHIP and beautiful words of affirmation in chapter three.
Nothing would change in Habakkuk's world… meaning, nothing about the conditions in his nation or the circumstances surrounding the invasion of the Babylonians but everything changed with Habakkuk. Where? Within Him. God didn't fix what was happening or coming but He did fix Habakkuk for it.
