Biblical evangelism has never had a shortage of ignorant and/or cowardly critics who would stall out the bold advance of the Gospel if allowed. Accept for the grace of God and the power of His indwelling Spirit we would all be cowardly critics sitting on the sidelines; the world never would have been turned upside down with the Gospel; Jerusalem never would have been filled with the doctrine of Christ; the Gospel never would have traveled the globe. If we are faithfully engaged in Biblical evangelism it is no point of pride, but rather a point of praise for God's amazing grace. While we don't want to give critics of Biblical evangelism undo attention or energy, we need to be aware of their criticisms in order to endure them and press on in the work of the Gospel. This essential and controversial message is a declaration and application of 2 Tim 1:8: "Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God." Pastor David Robertson (Dundee, Scotland) is exposed in this message as an example of being ashamed of the Gospel and of those who suffer in the bold ministry of the Gospel. He has openly mocked and maligned Biblical evangelism and evangelists in many blogs and a Christianity Today article. He has repeatedly and publicly kicked Biblical evangelists while they're down. May the Lord grant Robertson and those like him repentance, and raise up a new generation of pastors that unashamedly declare the Law of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ from the rooftops, on the streets, in the public square, and everywhere in between.
