In fact, the greatest good that God could ever accomplish for His creatures and the greatest kindness He could ever show them is to glorify Himself - to direct all things and work in all things so that the fullness of all that He is might be displayed before them. If God is of infinite value, splendor, and beauty, then it follows that the most valuable, most splendid, and most beautiful gift He could ever give to His creatures is the fullest revelation of Himself.

“ Berkhof quote ” If you want to find the Berkhof quote mentioned early in this teaching (before the book is published which I'm sure will footnote it!), it's on p. 137 of the Banner of Truth edition of Systematic Theology. Or, Part One, Roman numeral III (of the second set of Roman numerals under "(The Works Of God)" - haven't figured out why the numbering starts over), part capital C, number 5, lowercase c. (Concisely: One.(b).III.C.5.c) Great quote, but in an extremely unlikely place in the book.
