The words of God were delivered to the prophets, to give to His people and others who did not know God, the revelation of His will. They speak to us of what has happened and what will happen, in the history of redemption. The history of redemption is the history of God's saving a people for Himself. For our purposes this morning – The words of the Lord, written down in a book, are God's standing witness to what He expects of all men, and how He will act toward them in mercy and judgment. The Scriptures are God's standing witness of His righteous character and His expectations in 3 important ways, as they relate to His mercy and His judgment.
