Followers of Christ are engaged in a battle with an enemy that cannot be seen. The appropriate response to the warfare requires maturing as disciples and training others to do likewise. In the context of spiritual warfare, we must mature to recognize and avoid deception. If all we had to do was obey God and live for Him, being a Christian would be a lot easier than it is. Discipleship takes place in the context of warfare, global warfare, physically and spiritually. Understanding our times requires that we understand we are in a battle, the cause of the battle, and how to respond appropriately. Disciples in the hand of God will continue to train more disciples in a variety of occupations from doctors and lawyers to factory works and salesman to housewives and government leaders to truck drivers and businessmen to pastors and missionaries and more. Discipleship is simply living for Jesus where you are, doing what you are doing, reaching out to those you come into contact with. But Satan has designed our world culture to prevent discipleship.
