These verses give the account of the baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. In preaching from these verses, I also included a section from the gospel of Luke chapter 2 which told what we know of Jesus' boyhood.
John was certain that Jesus was the Messiah because the Heavenly Father had revealed to him that upon whom he saw the Holy Ghost descend and remain, this was He. John witnessed this of Jesus at His baptism.
