DID GOD CAST AWAY THE JEWS? Romans 11:1–3 1I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew, Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, 3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life (KJV). The apostle continuing his shadow argument saw such an objection would arise, which he here states as if coming from an adversary. So, this non-individual is suggesting, that God has cast away all His people the Jews, according to this account; and if so, how does He justify His covenant with Abraham? what's become of His promises? and how is His faithfulness to be accounted for? Which then in that logic follows with the question, what hope can any Israelite have of ever obtaining salvation?
