This sermon is about the stunning results that the gospel produced in Roman slaves living on the Island of Crete. If the queen of Sheba was astonished when she came from afar to Jerusalem and saw with wonder, among other things, Solomon's happy servants, the slave owners in Crete could only be more astonished at what the gospel accomplished in the Christian slaves living on the Island of Crete. Has oour "adorning" of the gospel of the glory of Christ seised anyone's attention? Crete was a spiritual pigsty figuratively speaking. And yet those slaves became palaces of purity in many cases. How? "If anyone loves Me, he will keep my word; and My father will love him, and We will come to him and make our home with him:" John 14:23.
