Introduction
We are glad you visited our website!

We are an independent Baptist church emphasizing completeness in Christ. Our ministry can be described in a nutshell as Bible-governed, Christ-centered, family-sensitive, and biblically separate. Below, this is explained in more detail.

First, we are Bible-governed. We believe that the scriptures are God-breathed. This being the case, our pastor and others who fill teaching roles, seek to be text based. The holy scriptures, the best we are able to interpret and apply them, govern us. Christ, the head of the church, communicates with the body by means of the scriptures. Christ said, “Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy word is truth.” (John 17:17).

Second, we seek to be Christ-centered in our thinking and doing. In the revelation of Himself to man, God has made Jesus Christ central in the Godhead. “…Christ is all…” (Colossians 3:11). “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name.” (Philippians 2:9)

Third, we seek to be family sensitive. By this we mean that we recognize that God planned and designed the family: “Every one of you shall revere his mother and father… I am the LORD your God.” (Leviticus 19:3). We seek to nurture healthy families. A healthy family is one that has internalized a biblical set of values. We encourage home Bible studies as a means of edification.

Fourth, we give attention to applied biblical separation. “Be ye holy, for I am holy” is a commandment in both the Old and the New Testaments. Exodus 33:16 says, “For wherein shall it be known here that I and Thy people have found grace in Thy sight? Is it not that You go with us? So shall we be separate, I and Thy people from all the people on the face of the earth.” God’s people are to be a separated people. Holiness and grace are contemporaneous principles. We are to be salt and light in the world (Matthew 5:13-14), but not of the world (John 17: 15-16).

Here are additional frequently asked questions and answers about our ministry.

What music style is used in our services?

We have what many would call a traditional style of music. We use our hymnbooks primarily. We use a chorus book and another songbook that has several Psalms set to music, and we supplement that collection with bulletin inserts from time to time. We aim for sound words, and “singable” music that fittingly carries the words in reverent, joyful worship of our Lord.

What version of the Scripture do we use?

Pastor Nicholes usually preaches from the New King James version. We often do the congregational Scripture reading from the King James version. While we have great respect for the old King James version, we are not a KJV-only church.

What is a day at Community Baptist like?

On Sundays at 10:00, we have our Bible Fellowship hour (also known as Sunday school), where the teacher (Pastor or one of our men) gives a Bible lesson. There is typically an opportunity for discussion about what we are learning. This is a less formal time, and coffee is available.

At 11:00, we have our worship service. This includes
an expository sermon, prayer, singing, and Scripture reading.

To learn more about us, please contact us or come visit in person with us! May the Lord bless you.

We are a small church, yet we have had about 26,500 downloads of messages from our ministry. We have had visitors come to the church from hearing us on SermonAudio. This is a "sound" investment of time and money!
