The Pharisees realize that in order to accuse Jesus in court and bring him to trial, they will need charges so they devise a trap in which to catch Him. Their set-up involves the despicable use of a woman caught in the act of adultery. While they feel that their trap is fool-proof, in the end, like so many other enemies of the gospel, THEY are the ones caught in their own net.
Finally we are given a chance to ask ourselves are we more like this woman or the Pharisees?
