The word "Genesis" is Greek for "origin". The first four words of the book "in the beginning, God" captures its essence. Although scientifically accurate, the focus of Genesis is not about biology or geology as many think, but about theology. God and great truths about Him are its subject and object. Do you begin with God, and is he the supreme object of your life?

Sublime Listening to this sermon I thought of that word, thy commandment is exceeding broad. What vastness of theology is contained in one simple verse of scripture. Sooner would one measure the vastness of our universe than fathom the God of Holy Writ. If this sermon dosent cause the sinner to fall down at the feet of this God, I dont know what will. As for me all I can pray is, I must decrease and He increase. Truly He is glorious in holiness fearful in praises doing wonders. Thank you Mr Beeke this sermon is a great thought breeder.

Great Sermon! Explained that "In the beginning God" are the most powerful words ever spoken or written in the universe! The Book of Gensis, being the first book of the Bible, is the beginning to ALL! Before there "was" there was only God!

Wow "In the beginning God" have got to be four of the most wonderful words in the Bible. I never before looked at Genesis 1 like I do now!
