Theme: You have been weighed, measured, and found worthy by the blood of Jesus. In vv. 3-4 the Christian's calling is described. While our natural state at birth is sinful and identical to the world, our rescued state is identical to Jesus, we are a new creation. In vv. 5-9 we see a warning. We need to "look beyond our noses" to see and remember who we are in Christ. Because of our identity in Christ and the great hope we have, we should seek to live a life of obedience. In vv. 10-11, we see the rewards of diligence. For the Christian who seeks to walk with Christ, grace and peace are multiplied. When we walk in obedience, we have much joy and peace, and when we fail, we need to remember our acceptance before the Lord because of Christ and seek to press on in following Him. |
