They were all incomplete, unfinished, and unproductive. The earth itself was covered with one massive ocean: the whole earth lay under a sea of surging, raging waves. In addition, there was a heavy mist,a dense fog and thick clouds,that encircled the earth. Just imagine! The earth was encircled with a thick mass of clouds that apparently rose several thousand feet up into the sky. This would mean that the earth was engulfed in pitch black darkness.This was primeval earth; this was the way our planet looked before God began the six days of creation. But God did not create the earth to remain in a primeval stage. He created the earth to be the home for man. Therefore, God launched His great creative acts; God launched the six great days of creation.
