Proverb 1:20-33 shows us a side of Christ to which we are not accustomed. When He has repeatedly called to us to come to Him and we repeatedly spurn Him, there comes a time when He will come no more. The day of salvation is over. The day of mercy is past. Then, when we begin to worry about our souls and come calling on Him in our distress, He will only laugh at us and mock us. There are also many other passages which teach us that there is a point we can reach of judicial hardness, where God will not pity us any more. The lesson is clear: seek the Lord now, while He may be found, not later.
