Last week we heard that God has spoken to us by his Son, and therefore, we should pay much closer attention to what we have heard lest we drift away from it. This week we hear the first reason why we should pay closer attention– Jesus is greater than the angels. And, since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, how much more should we take note of the 'message' of the Son. The message declared by the angels was that of the law - the Old Covenant. The Son's message is the word of grace, a word of great salvation - the New Covenant. He is the Lord's anointed Messiah and King. He is also our only hope of salvation. He is surely worth listening to.
