Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ: Covenant theology teaches that after the fall of Adam in the covenant of works, God made a new covenant with man. That new covenant is found throughout the Bible. God didn't deal differently with people in different dispensations. (That is dispensational theology.) In this new covenant, God required that in order for anyone to be saved from his sins, from Adam to you, man must have faith in Jesus, believing Jesus was their vicarious Covenant Keeper. (There is one God, one Savior, one Gospel, one faith, and one church!)
Without a doubt, covenant theology is the most perfect understanding of the Bible. It is the most precise understanding of God's interaction with man. It is also most God-glorifying. There is an amazing consistency in it.
And yet we have problems in Reformed churches. Why? Well, the problem is not with the theology…but with the lack of covenant faithfulness…the lack of obeying what we are taught. They say: "I'm saved so I can live however I want." That's presumptuousness. Christians must learn to take their covenant responsibilities seriously and not be derelict. Hear of this today.
Our goals are: That you will be faithful to Covenant Christ your Savior because you see judgment of covenant unfaithfulness, and because you see the blessings for covenant faithfulness.
