This morning, I want us to see how Jesus began His public ministry to the world. As He walked the hillsides of Galilee, there was a movement beginning in Judea. John the Baptist had been setting the stage for the coming of the Son of Man. John preached repentance, hearts were being changed, and he was baptizing all who were flowing in from Judea and Jerusalem. A revival had started. There was a return to the True and Living God. The time had come for Jesus to “Go Public.” This morning, we will consider what Jesus did and what this means to us. Let us consider Mark 1:9-20 and take a look at the following 1) Jesus’ baptism 2) Jesus’ temptation 3) Jesus’ proclamation 4) Jesus’ call to discipleship.
