Law-breakers hate law enforcement. But the reverse should never be true. The OT commands us to love our neighbors and hate God's enemies (see Lev. 19:18, Ps. 139:21-22). But Jesus commands us to love our enemies too -- not in the sense of enjoying them, but in the sense of sincerely and eagerly wishing them good and doing them good. That's what the Father does for His enemies, and what did most clearly at the cross of Jesus Christ. Cops, love your enemies by preventing them from doing the evil things they want to do!
