Many people struggle with the Book of Esther as part of God's Word since the book does not contain the word "God," and does not mention prayer, praise, or worshipping God. The message of the book of Esther is that God takes care of His children The church of Christ does not depend upon our work, but on God's love and care. In this way the history of redemption continues. This book is the beginning of a transition period, the fall of the last Old Testament world empire and the rise of the Greek and Roman empires which prepared the way for the coming of Christ. We should take comfort from the fact that God has a plan for the whole world and He brings that plan to pass. God is always working, sometimes quietly and without show, but always for His glory and the furthering of His kingdom. The key to understanding God's providence is that God governs so that we mature in serving Him and become more fruitful.
