Re-Created — For Praise
God's given us, every new creature in Christ, His power, His love, and His mind to shape future vessels of praise.
David, just before his death, having turned the throne over to his son, gathered the leaders of Israel with the Levites and guided them like any intentional arrow shaper would... to remind them of why he squeezed out and shaped the musical instruments that he made. He said, "I made them for giving praise" (1 Chronicles 23:5). This is God and His work in the heart of His arrow shapers... servant who live to know and treasure His heart in all things, who intentionally creates everything they make or shape to give Him praise.
Keep in mind, it was David who penned these words: "All Your works shall praise You, O Lord; and Your saints shall bless You. They shall intentionally speak of the glory of Your kingdom, and purposely talk of Your power, to make known to the sons of men Your mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of Your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations" (Psalm 145:10-13).
Glory... whether it's a son or daughter, a disciple or a flock, a guitar or a song, a congregation or disciple, everything God does in the life of and through His servants will be used for giving praise.
So I encourage you, as David encouraged the Levites that gathered under his voice, to not let unbelief trick you nor the seasons of life devalue your purpose and priority to praise. Unbelief is often disguised as a simple distraction that allows the circumstances to gain our focus and we miss out on the opportunity and joy to glorify Jesus in the hard things in life (2 Timothy 1:7)… |
