Tony recently spent a week with Baltimore Bible Church, assisting the church with its annual, city-wide outreach effort called "Scatter Week."
One location where the Baltimore Bible Church team ministered was the Mondawmin Rail Station. Mondawmin, seen by the City of Baltimore as the most diverse square-mile in the city, was a flashpoint for rioting in 2015. The rail station is also a popular venue for drug dealers. Recently, the city had to take action as a result of the rail station having become a popular location for organized street brawls.
While taking a brief respite, sitting atop a cooler full of bottled water and holding his "Stop and Talk" cross, Tony was approached by a man named Eric. Eric announced that he planned to be at the rail station to serve alongside the Baltimore Bible Church team.
Needless to say, Tony inquired of Eric to see if he was a Christian. While Eric claimed to hear God speak to him, and while he claimed he had a message for Baltimore, Eric could not even remotely articulate the gospel.
Eric boasted about spiritual gifts, but likely did not know Jesus. Sadly, his pride wouldn't let him even consider the possibility.
