If someone rejects the Gospel, especially by hurling abuse and blaspheming, are we obligated to keep trying? Does God require us to keep trying and keep trying to win over our lost loved ones, friends, co-workers and neighbors? The answer is no, He doesn't. If the disciples were not received by people in a city, they were to go out to the street, take their shoes off and then shake off the dust in protest against that city. Likewise, Jesus commanded us not to throw our pearls before swine and not to give what is holy to dogs. The Gospel is a precious pearl. It deserves to be respected and honored. Therefore, it should not be given to those who have made it clear that they don't want to hear it and especially those who blaspheme by hurling abuse at the Gospel.
