The dangers of the Diotrephes syndrome or spirit, is alive and well today. It would be impossible to measure the huge and lifelong damages that people like Diotrephes can do, to the local church. This man, Diotrephes, hindered the work of God. I am going to say this from the outset…every church…every church…this church is no exception…either HAVE a Diotrephes, have HAD a Diotrephes, or WILL HAVE a Diotrephes. And it is vitally important that a church be able to recognize it, and deal with it. We must be cautious not to spend the entire service looking over our shoulder at another, and never consider the possibility that we are Diotrephes.
