There is no risk in doing the will of God and putting His instructions into practice.
This would be true for Israel as God puts finishing touches on the Law He is giving them to live by, and for believers today in implementing the law of Christ as given in the New Testament.
Included in His instruction here are sundry laws, the Sabbath, three national feasts, the land and its conquest.
Specifically addressing the issue of the land to Israel, God tells them of the leadership and protection He will provide for the conquest.
As a nation they ratify their covenant with God. They come up with the right response verbally, acknowledging their commitment to the Lord - but what about putting it into practice?
To implement the covenant they will simply need to trust and obey as they assuredly will find God faithful and trustworthy.
The difficulty for them will be to be faithful to do what they have said they will - 'All that the Lord has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient!' 24:7b
