The Father Is the Savior of Our Salvation
When Christ says, "Into Your hands I commend my spirit" we find an amazing promise of God of our assurance. King David, in Psalm 28, cries out that God is the Savior of his salvation. He foreshadows Christ in that God the Father is the Savior of his salvation. Christ is the eternal King but He looked to His father for help and refuge. And the Father grants it. How possibly could we be lost if the Father is the Savior of Christ's salvation? Not only is Christ the great King defending our salvation but His Father is defending His defense of us. We are totally in the hands of this great King whose Father will back Him up in battle. We are made triply assured for each person of the godhead is assuring our salvation.
