In today’s passage, we will look listen to a parable of Jesus. He reminds us that man may look on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart. He speaks about being right with God. The gospel is good news. In it, the righteousness of God has been revealed from faith to faith, for it is written, the righteous shall live by faith. These truths about being justified in the eyes of God through faith in the righteous sacrifice of Jesus have set the world on fire where it has been preached and believed. This morning, we will turn to Luke 18:9-14 and our topic will be Good News: The Joy of Justification. We will consider 1) The Danger of Playing Judge 2) The Deception of Self-Justification 3) The Delight of Justification.
