A primary responsibility of these leaders is to make sure the church stays faithful to the truth of God's Word. Faithful in both its teaching of the Word and putting it into practice individually and corporately. The warning is also sounded that there will be relentless opposition stirred up and provoked by the devil in his ongoing rebellion against God. Godly leadership in the church will often be on the front lines of this battle that rages on until the Rapture of the church.
