Paul wanted the ministry of the church to continue and go onto maturity. Such a task requires diligence. Paul therefore gives commands to Timothy to go forward in victory. These commands are given to Timothy personally and for life of the church. In this message we therefore look at commands for victory during times of great trial: 1. We must be endued with power through the grace in Christ (2:1 - "be strong..."). 2. We must entrust the truth to faithful brethren (2:2 - "the same commit thou..."). 3. We must endure problems (2:3-6 - "endure hardness..."). 4. We must examine the principles by which we are to live (2:7 - "consider what I say...").
