Many people are uncomfortable talking about God's wrath and coming judgment. They do not like to think of God being angry, of God having vengeance, of God pouring out wrath and destroying people. Their concept of God, fits more of a grandfatherly type that is very understanding, warm, and indulgent. But that's not the picture the Scripture paints of God, He is a God of absolute holiness, of perfection and justice, and a God who will mete out judgment. The picture of God sitting on the throne in heaven is a reminder that earthly rulers come and go. Almighty God sits on the throne - that does not change. That's a great comfort to us as His children. Things are never out of control. God never leaves the throne. Who will be the next president of this country? The man of God's appointment. Who will be the next president of France?
