Theme: Through Christ, God will supply and satisfy your greatest needs. In this familiar story of Jesus feeding the multitude, we can learn many lessons! In vv. 10-12, we see that the getaway that Jesus and the disciples had planned is interrupted. Jesus welcomes the crowds and uses the opportunity to share the truths of the kingdom with them. We should always be hospitable and seek to reach others with the gospel. In vv. 13-15, we see the impossible task. Although the disciples had no way of feeding the multitude, they obey Jesus's command to have the people sit in groups of 50. We also should realize that obedience is greater than understanding. We will not always understand what God tells us to do, but we should always obey. Finally in vv. 16-17, we see that Christ is all satisfying. Jesus is the true Bread of Life and He is sufficient for us. He alone will supply and satisfy our greatest needs. Trust Him!
